Nicole S. “Grant”

Dom is the FOURTH (and last) trainer I went to and by the time I found her I was near giving up on my very sweet but psychotic dog Grant that I had adopted a few months earlier. I've had dogs my whole life but was not prepared for this maniac that I was now committed to. She saved us. I know that sounds dramatic but I cannot emphasize enough the impact she had. Dom gave me so much confidence, and also tamed my dog in a way that was hard to believe. One time I left Grant with Dom while I was out of town and she sent me a video of him playing with her cat. My dog who prior to that would have attacked, killed, and probably eaten any cat he came across.

The sessions I had with every trainer felt useful in the moment, but Dom was the only one that worked with us in a way that turned out to be sustainable, from the collar she recommended to working on recall. After sessions with other trainers I would try to work on what we went over (and what seemed so easy with the trainer)...nothing was working. It was frustrating and expensive. Dom made sure that what she was teaching us would prove successful whether she was present or not. And it actually worked.

I signed up for the private and group lessons and both were great, and also very practical. Having Dom at the dog park to help us in what was usually a very stressful situation was so useful, for both Grant and myself. Aside from being incredibly useful, Dom is lovely and it was great to spend time with her, and her dogs who sometimes came along.

I cannot recommend Dom enough.

Rivka “Tealy”

Dom is a highly effective dog trainer who is knowledgeable, empathetic, and fun to work with. Her one-on-one lessons are informative and instilled confidence in me that my dog's unwanted behaviors could change. In addition, I found her group sessions provided a supportive environment to learn from other dog parents in the same boat. I would absolutely recommend Dom's services to anyone!

Jill B. “Hazel”

Our dog has separation anxiety, aggression toward other dogs and animals along with several handicaps that makes living with Hazel a delicate balance. We were at wits end when Domonique came along. With such a deep understanding of how dogs work, and knowledge of how to handle all of these needs, that we found lasting change pretty quickly. We were even going on pack walks with other dogs! Dom's a natural and truly gifted at understanding dogs (and she's not so bad with humans either.)Thank goodness she trained all of us!

Cody/Ali “Kathy”

Adopting a 1-year old, 60 lb dog, right before a pandemic hits New York was challenging, to say the least. We tried YouTube videos, different harnesses, and mounds of expensive toys, but we were really struggling to train our dog, Kathy. She is the first dog we've owned as a couple, so we knew we needed the help of a trainer. When Dom was able to safely and responsibly start her sessions again, we signed up ASAP. She gave us clear and consistent training for Kathy. She really trained us as dog handlers. From the very first session, we noticed a huge change in our dog. Dom and her assistant, Cass, are so friendly and encouraging. They made us more confident dog owners and now our walks with Kathy are something to look forward to, not struggle through. Our training sessions are loaded with delicious treats for Kathy, fun playtime with their dogs, and most importantly, great training lessons. Kathy is so much happier knowing what is expected of her. The experience has been amazing. We definitely recommend Dom's training.

Lisa P. “Koda”

Domonique from Dom's Dogs is a caring empathetic dog sitter and trainer who was quite honestly made to be doing this type of work. She works closely with her clients to ensure that all of the dog's needs are met and more. I noticed that after I would return from trips, not only was my dog happy and healthy, she was way better behaved too! Domonique is a true dog lover and you should not hesitate to work with her!

Su B. “Oscar”

Dom was an absolute joy to work with! She made me realize I truly can learn to communicate with my dog. In just two sessions she literally changed my relationship with my Oscar! I brought back my pup from the streets of Turkey and about 5 months later he started getting super aggresive with other dogs. And soon after my roommate moved in with her super docile dog Mali, we had serious issues. I called Dom to do an in-house evaluation and she got understood the issue right away. Saw the problems and taught my roommate and I the things to avoid and what not to do. Now both dogs are able to co-habitat in the same house. Dom’s a miracle worker!

Leigh S. “Elmo”

There is no-one I trust more to work with my pup than Dom. I actually trust her more than I trust myself. She has served as both a trainer and dog sitter to my young Cavalier King Charles Elmo, and most recently my pup didn’t even want to come home after spending a few days with Dom. Dom is not only incredible with dogs, but is also a joy to work with and be around. I can’t imagine sending Elmo to anyone else.

Joe H. “Floyd”

Domonique was our trainer to our first rescue dog "Floyd". He was rescued off the street in Brooklyn, a very sweet Pitbull but had a couple behavioral issues. On our first session Domonique was able to identify Floyds behavioral traits and gave us manageable and relatable training techniques. We saw an immediate change in Floyd after his first couple of classes. He was hardly pulling on his leash and was respecting our boundaries and rules. We have used Domonique for weeks after and have really learnt to understand our dogs behavior and to train him to the best of his ability. We would recommend Domonique to anyone who is looking to have a well trained dog and to become a well trained owner.

Lisa W. “Ham”

Let me start this off by saying, I've grown up with animals all my life and thought getting a puppy would be a natural thing for me. Turns out, I KNEW NOTHING! I read book after book and I could get normal things like sit and stay in my apt but in the outside world things were a mess. Pulling while walking, freaking out to play with any dog he saw on the street, not paying attention, not listening, peeing wherever he wanted ( indoors too). It was the worst. This cute little rescue puppy was quickly becoming the bane of my existence and getting stronger every day. ENTER DOMONIQUE. After the first session He was sitting on his own, outside and ignoring everything except me.  She pointed out concessions that I was making with my dog, that were telling him it was ok and that he was leading me and not the other way around. In my first group class I was a nervous wreck that I was going to ruin everything for the other people with my dog but quickly found out that what I was taught by Domonique worked there too :) She helped me so much that there is no way I can thank her enough. I now have my best friend, who is a giant weirdo but he listens, he knows what is allowed and what is not okay. My dog loves her and I mean LOVES her. I can't recommend her strongly enough!! She made my dream of having a dog come true. Because of her I know that in every situation, I can handle him and he'll listen. Things that used to scare him ( bags in the wind, children yelling etc ) he now just looks to me to navigate it for him. Thank you so much, Dominique!

Sherry C. “Charcoal”

Last month, I went to Ireland for 12 days, leaving my 2-year-old Labrador Retriever with Domonique Pacitto (Dom's Dogs). Charcoal has been with our family since he was 11 weeks old. We live in a brownstone in Brooklyn, and I met Domonique and her Newfoundland named Koda at a dog run, close to our home. The Ireland trip was my son Barton's idea, and it took me several months to agree to go because I could not rest easy leaving Coal. Barton reminded me that Coal, at the dog park, obviously responded enthusiastically to Domonique and suggested we ask her if we could board Coal at her place while he and I were gone. So, this is how it went--Coal stayed with Domonique, Koda, Daniel, and Ashley for the 12 days we were gone, and he and they did beautifully. When we returned, we found Coal in fine health and his usual happy spirits. Domonique not only cared for him, she also cared for me, sending me emails often with videos attached showing Coal in her back yard playing with Koda, at the dog park with Koda and other dog friends, snuggling up to Domonique on the sofa, etc. There was my boy, body and spirits intact! And me miles away. I so wholeheartedly recommend Domonique and Dom's Dog Training if you need someone to care for and/or train your dog. Domonique is tops!
